Dr. Denny is a South Bay native. He was born down the street from the office at Torrance Memorial Hospital and was raised in Palos Verdes. He was an all area running back for Peninsula High’s CIF championship team, and then attended Rice University on a football scholarship. He was a Western Athletic Conference Scholar athlete while at Rice University, and then a Big 12 Conference Scholar Athlete at the University of Colorado. He completed his degrees in Biochemistry and Chemistry at the University of Colorado, earned his dental degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, and finished his orthodontic residency at USC. While at USC, he also earned earned his masters degree in craniofacial biology for his research and thesis on extraction treatment and third molar eruption paths. He received his Board Certification from the American Board of Orthodontics and continues his education through his membership in several orthodontic organizations.
Dr. Denny brings an advanced knowledge in digital orthodontic technologies to our office. These technologies include the fields of 3D scanning, 3D printing, and digital radiography.
He comes from a family well versed in the field of dentistry. His father was an orthodontist in Torrance for many years, while his mother worked as a dental hygienist in several South Bay offices. He has 2 brothers and 1 sister, all of which are general dentists.
His hobbies include traveling, snowboarding, and coaching football. In the past, he has coached football both at the high school level for Palos Verdes High School, as well as Pop Warner youth football for the Palos Verdes Mustangs.
